The SRB opens today its first Economic Conference, bringing together policy-makers, banking practitioners and leading academics to discuss key issues shaping financial stability. The two-day event focuses on academic research on bank crisis and resolution, drawing lessons from past experience while exploring future challenges and opportunities.
The conference convenes renowned experts from the academic and finance world to exchange views on developments on bank resolution, and to reflect on how research can inform the continued strengthening of the existing crisis-management framework.
Opening the conference in Brussels, Dominique Laboureix, Chair of the SRB, noted:
“The first economic Conference is a wonderful opportunity to engage further with the academic worldwith a view to better connect research and practical resolution work . Discussions such as these help us anticipate potential challenges, deepen our understanding and identify possible solutions.”
The conference takes place over two days, starting today with a Young researcher award. The second day, on 19 March, will be available to watch online.
Further information, including the full agenda, is available on the conference website.
