Denis Beau, appointed Deputy Governor of the Banque de France in August 2017 and reappointed as First Deputy Governor in January 2024, holds numerous key roles. He has been appointed by the Governor to represent him as Chairman of the Autorité de contrôle prudential et de résolution (French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority – ACPR), and he chairs the Observatory for the Security of Payment Means. He's also on the Board of the AMF and the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) and he chairs the Budget Committee of the ECB. 

Since joining the Banque de France in 1986, he has held various roles, including serving as Deputy Director General of economics and International Relations. Between 2012 and 2017, he was Director General of Financial Stability and Operations, overseeing monetary policy operations and financial stability.
