The Single Resolution Board (SRB) has published the official report of its SRM 10th Anniversary Conference, held in Brussels on 15 October 2025.

The report captures the key discussions and insights from this milestone event, which brought together policymakers, supervisors, resolution authorities, industry representatives and international partners to reflect on a decade of the Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM) and to look ahead to the challenges of the next 10 years.

More than 400 participants on site and 4,100 online took part in a full day of panels and debates covering topics including:

  • SRM achievements
  • global cooperation in bank resolution
  • completing the Banking Union
  • liquidity in resolution
  • emerging risks such as cyber threats and digitalisation
  • the shift towards operational crisis readiness under SRM Vision 2028

The report highlights Europe’s significant progress in building a robust resolution framework - including more than €2.6 trillion in loss-absorbing capacity, an €80 billion Single Resolution Fund, and a fully operational system capable of managing bank failures without taxpayer support. At the same time, it reflects a clear message from speakers: while much has been achieved, important work remains to be done to complete the Banking Union, strengthen preparedness, and adapt to a rapidly changing financial landscape.
