Silvia Allegrezza is Associate Professor of criminal law and procedure at the University of Luxembourg. Her research focuses on European criminal justice, evidence law, genetics forensics, financial crime, and anti-money laundering integrated strategies.  

She received a PhD in Criminal Procedure from the University of Bologna where she has been lecturing until 2014. After her arrival at the University of Luxembourg, she has led several research projects and written widely on the above. She is a member of the EU Commission experts’ group on criminal justice and served as Rapporteur for the EU Parliament on anti-money laundering. She has been a Visiting Professor at several institutions around the world, including Paris-Nanterre, Urbino, Rennes, and a Research Fellow at the Max-Plack Institut for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg im Breisgau.

She is the Director of the Master Programme in European Economic and Fincial Crime as well as the Chair of the Ethics Review Panel of her university.
