How long have you worked at the SRB and how has it changed since you joined?
I joined the SRB in 2015, its year of establishment. Witnessing the dynamic evolution of SRB since my arrival has been nothing short of inspiring. We were less than 50 staff at that time, sharing all an open space in a temporary office. It was a very convivial way of working and I do miss some aspects of that! Almost nine years later, the SRB has grown in size and complexity, developing new functions in line with its mandate and moving to more adequate premises. But I believe that the dynamism of a relatively new authority dealing with relatively new topics is still there, also compared to other EU institutions and agencies.
What do you particularly like about your work at the SRB?
The people! The SRB manages to attract many talented and committed professionals from all over the EU. It is a diverse work environment and I made very good friends throughout the years. In terms of daily work, I like the fact that even after many years every day presents a new challenge, an opportunity to learn something new and contribute to something bigger than myself. I had the chance to work in different units throughout these years, from horizontal policies to crisis management and resolution planning, interacting with a variety of stakeholders, from banks to national and international authorities as well as advisors. I would say it has never been a dull day at the SRB!
Would you recommend the SRB as an employer?
I would definitely recommend the SRB for the opportunities and benefits it provides as well as its unwavering commitment to excellence and inclusivity.
What makes you happy about working at the SRB?
The fact that I am contributing to build-up the second pillar of the Banking Union and foster financial stability makes me feel proud and motivates me. I am also happy to share my daily job with many wonderful colleagues from all over the EU.
Is it hard to prepare for a competition at the SRB as a resolution expert?
It is hard but feasible, and everybody with a solid background and technical expertise, keen interest and motivation should definitely try.
