Can you think of a particular challenge you faced during your traineeship, and how did you overcome it? What did you learn about yourself and your capabilities in the process?
One of the main challenges I faced at the beginning of my traineeship was the ability to clearly and professionally communicate complex financial and banking concepts, which were new to me. I dedicated time to deeply understand the work of the SRB, gradually building my knowledge and connecting the dots. It was extremely rewarding to finally see the full picture and be able to move between tasks with confidence.
Were there any moments or experiences during your traineeship where you felt like your unique perspective or voice was valued and heard? If so, can you describe them?
Throughout my traineeship, I always felt seen and valued, which motivated me to perform at my best every day. I was entrusted with meaningful tasks and real responsibilities. More and more tasks were gradually delegated to me, showing trust in my abilities and reinforcing that my contribution truly mattered.
There were several mentorship and networking opportunities that had a significant impact on my traineeship. Meeting influential leaders like the President of the European Parliament Ms Roberta Metsola, as well as engaging with key figures from National Resolution Authorities, gave me invaluable first-hand insight into high-level decision-making.
Participating in conferences and meetings with National Resolution Authorities, European Parliament Committee (ECON), European Commission Directorate-General (DG FISMA), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Brussels Office further deepened my understanding of the sector and enriched my overall experience.
The Blue Book traineeship reinforced my passion for the EU. It gave me a valuable insider’s perspective on how the EU bubble operates and confirmed that this is the environment where I see my future. This experience has been a defining moment that will guide both my career and personal development moving forward.
