What specific skills or knowledge did you acquire during your traineeship at SRB that you feel have prepared you for your future career, and how do you think they will impact your professional journey?
During my traineeship I developed strong analytical and technical skills in process mapping (BPMN), stakeholder coordination, and digital documentation tools like Confluence and Visio. These skills helped me better understand the operational backbone of a regulatory authority and will be crucial as I move forward in EU public service or consulting roles.
Was there a moment at SRB where you felt you levelled up – even just a little? What happened?
Yes, when I was entrusted with coordinating the update of a key process map and presenting the result to senior staff. It pushed me to take ownership, manage deadlines across units, and communicate with confidence. That moment helped me see myself as a contributor, not just a trainee.
What advice would you give to someone considering the Blue Book traineeship?
Be proactive and curious from day one. Ask questions, offer to support different projects, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. It’s a unique chance to grow, both professionally and personally, in a supportive and international environment.
