Jose Manuel is a Head of Unit at the Single Resolution Board (SRB), where he leads a team responsible for resolution planning and decision-making for Significant Institutions in Germany, Portugal, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
He joined the SRB in 2015 and has since gained broad experience in resolution planning and crisis management across diverse types of banks and Member States. He also brings practical experience from past resolution cases.
Before joining the SRB, Jose Manuel spent over 10 years at international law firms, notably advising public authorities and central banks during financial crisis. During this period, he also engaged in academic work as a visiting professor and published author on various aspects of EU law.
He holds a Law Degree and postgraduate qualifications (LLM and MA) in Law and Economics inter alia from the College of Europe (Bruges) and King’s College London.
