Mr. Jaakko Weuro has been serving as the Director General of the Finland’s Financial Stability Authority since 2024. Financial Stability Authority has an integrated mandate covering both resolution and deposit guarantee issues.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Weuro has served in various positions in the Ministry of Finance, including as Director for Banking and Financial Infrastructure and Senior Ministerial Adviser in Financial Stability and Resolution Law as well as Alternate Member in the Board of Directors of FIN-FSA.

Mr. Weuro has represented Finland as the financial services attaché at the Permanent Representation of Finland and in various committees and working parties within the EU Council and the Eurogroup. In 2019 he was responsible for coordination of legislative and non-legislative work in financial services during Finland’s presidency of the EU Council. 

Mr. Weuro holds Master of Laws degree from University of Helsinki and has specialized throughout his career on financial stability and crisis management issues, including inter-agency collaboration and preparedness planning.
