As the implementation phase of the Expectations for Banks (EfB) came to an end, the SRB is revising its resolvability assessment methodology, strengthening it based on lessons learned from crisis cases, best practice implemented by the industry, and the results of bank testing exercises.
Over the years, banks have expressed the need for greater clarity regarding the criteria the SRB uses in its resolvability assessments. To address this, the SRB is introducing a standardised self-assessment report aligned with the capabilities evaluated in its own methodology. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, promote convergence, and ensure a level playing field across banks within the Banking Union.
The purpose of this technical meeting is to present the self-assessment report currently under consultation, highlight key aspects where feedback would be appreciated, and provide clarification where necessary before the closing of the consultation.
Please note that the SRB will prioritise questions that will have been submitted in advance of the meeting to the following email Resolvability-public-consultation [a] srb.europa.eu (Resolvability-public-consultation[at]srb[dot]europa[dot]eu) by 7 January 2025 at the latest.
Participants are expected to get familiar with the documents under the consultation before the meeting. This meeting does not replace written responses to the consultation.
You are invited to share this invitation within the banking industry and with other relevant stakeholders.
