How long have you worked at the SRB and how has it changed since you joined?
I joined the SRB in 2015, at the time of its inception. I was among the first staff members to join. Actually, I worked for the SRB even before its creation as I was part of the DG FISMA Task Force responsible for the establishment of the SRB. At that time, we were a very small team of around 10 people to take up this challenge, which is a very enriching and unique experience in a career. Today, after nine years at the SRB, I have lost a bit track of who is who as we count more than 500 staff members. Nevertheless, I take pride in witnessing the SRB’s evolution into a mature organisation, fulfilling its mandate and addressing new challenges.
What do you particularly like about your work at the SRB?
As a Communications Expert, I particularly appreciate the variety of the work and responsibilities that come with my role. From managing events to handling internal and external communication, managing projects and being involved in crisis communication gives me the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences. There is no monotony at all! In the Communication Team, we actively contribute to a transparent and effective communication. Additionally, working with wonderful colleagues creates a positive and pleasant working atmosphere.
Would you recommend the SRB as an employer?
I would definitely recommend SRB as an employer as it offers good opportunities to grow in your career. It is also a good organisation size, not too large or too small, allowing you to know most of your colleagues and to build strong relationships with them which is invaluable for effective daily interactions.
What makes you happy about working at the SRB?
What I particularly appreciate about working at the Single Resolution Board is that it allows me to contribute to an impactful organisation as it plays a crucial role in protecting the taxpayer and promoting financial stability. I also value working in a dynamic and international environment.
Is it hard to prepare for a competition at the SRB as a Communications Expert?
It is challenging but it is certainly worth it! Strong communication skills and experience are obviously essential, as well as an ability to grasp technical material and communicate it in an accessible way. With a strong motivation and a willingness to adapt to change and challenges, it is definitely worth it!
