Juana Pulgar Ezquerra

Juana is Chaired professor in Business Law at the University Complutense of Madrid (Spain) and Academic counsel in Latham & Watkins.

Juana specialises in commercial Law, insolvency Law and corporate/ banking restructuring.

She is a permanent member of the Spanish General codification Commission.

She has been also a Member of the Special Section set up within the Spanish General Codification Commission established by the Ministry of Justice in September 2018 for the Spanish insolvency and preinsolvency law reform in relation to the transposition of the European Directive UE 2019/1023 on preventive corporate restructuring.

Currently, she is the President of the working group set up within the Spanish general Codification Commission established by the Ministry of justice in June 2020, in relation to the transposition of the European Directive UE 2019/2121 of the European Parliament and of the council of 27 November 2019 amending Directive (EU) 2017/ 1132 as regards cross - border conversions, mergers and divisions.

She runs the prestigious Revista de Insolvencias & reestructuracione (I&R) published by Iustel and is author of numerous publications on restructuring, corporate and Insolvency Law.

Juana Pulgar is also member of the International Insolvency Institute (III) and the European banking institute of the European Central Bank, as well as an observer of the Unidroit´s working group on bank insolvency.

She, also acts as speaker in various national and international forums specialised on financing, restructuring and insolvency Law.
