Karen Braun-Munzinger is responsible for Resolution Policy Development and Coordination at the SRB. A German national, she joined the SRB from the Deutsche Bundesbank, where she has served as Deputy Director General for Banking and Financial Supervision since 2021. She started her career in financial regulation and financial stability at the UK’s HM Treasury and the Bank of England, then joined the European Central Bank in 2016. Karen holds an M.Sc. in Economics from Birkbeck College and a D.Phil. in Physics from the University of Oxford, which she attended as a Rhodes Scholar.
