Hanna Westman works as Chief Economist at the Finnish Financial Stability Authority. Previously she has worked with questions related to banking and bank regulation both in the private and public sector. Westman obtained her doctoral degree (Ph.D., economics) in 2009 from Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki, with a thesis on corporate governance in European banks. During her time at the Bank of Finland, Westman assisted Governor Liikanen in his role as Chair in the High-level Expert Group on reforming the structure of EU banking sector.
